Take a Seat!
We've assembled and primed twelve (12) fabulous Adirondack-style chairs, designed by a friend of TTCP, Irving Hopkins, to place in and around businesses along Route 66. And now they await the skills of local artists to beautify them!
Eligibility:
Regional artists (Hebron, Marlborough, East Hampton, Colchester, Bolton, Lebanon, Andover, Columbia and Windham) are invited to apply to decorate a chair. First preference will be given to Hebron artists.
Acrylic or oil are accepted.
A $25 stipend will be given to each selected artist for painting supplies
Finished designs must be varnished (we recommend an outdoor spray varnish).
Artists should sign the chair(s).
The finished chairs are the property of The Town Center Project, Inc.
Cash prizes will be awarded ($100 First Place; $75 Honorable Mention; $50 People’s Choice)
All artists should submit a colored sketch of their design concept and 3 digital images of past work that represents the kind of art you intend for the chair to ttcp@thetowncenterproject.org
JUDGING:
An independent panel of 3 jurors will select the artists for this project. Once the chairs are completed and installed, the jurors will pick the prize winners. Criteria for selection are originality, technical excellence, aesthetics and design.
Theme:
"Crazy for Color!" What part of the color wheel speaks to you? Here's your chance to play with your favorite palette and create something unique, memorable (and useful) for Hebron's Center.
Timeline:
· Deadline for Submissions: July 7
· Artists selected by: July 13
· Selected artists pick up Chairs: July 14-15
· Chair art completion: by August 12
· Installation and Awards Ceremony: (TBD)

There is no application fee for this project. Your donated art is payment enough!
